Overview
In 2019 Covid-19 made its appearance into the lives of the citizens of the United States. In 2020 is when it made its biggest impact on millions of lives across the globe. As many lives were effected, many businesses were too. The church in particular took a hit. With many churches closing their doors and less church attendance during and after the pandemic threw the church into a spiral. As the world changed, the church changed with it. Today, as we see fewer and fewer people involved in their local ministries, the questions rises as to how can we rebuild the church numerically through
effective evangelism?

Virtual Communities

As the pandemic came and gone, during the duration of that time, people adapted to a virtual world. Many people found the delight in being able to be a part of many virtual communities, whether that event meant not being a faithful congregant to their own ministry. Due to this, people began to explore other ministry options and or other communities in general. Leaving and replacing their original church community.

Abandoned Seats

As the Pandemic lifted, the world thought things would return back to normalcy. We were all sadly mistaken. As many did not return to their regular work environments, the same effect took place for the church environment.

While other establishments were taking the steps to reopen and activity began to emerge, we see people starting to engage with in person ventures once again. As malls were being filled, and grocery stores were selling out, the church was left only inhabited by a faithful few. Many churches looked to the horizon for the return of their congregants, but soon began to realize that they no longer will be returning.

Over 7,700 churches closed their doors never to reopen. For the those who remained open realized quickly to shift their energy from the wishful thinking of their old congregants to paving a way for new congregants to come in and rebuild their church numerically.

With this mentality, ministries had to change the way of how their church functioned and adapt to the times in order to see new growth.

New begins with me and you

The R.O.C.K. is a local ministry located at 109 Centerpoint Rd, San Marcos Texas lead by Senior Pastor Marquet Curl who defied the odds by having ministry explosion in the midst of a ministry recession. In 2022 The R.O.C.K. expanded and build a new church facility during a time where congregation loyalty was faulty around the world.

As the new church doors opened, an evangelism plan was quickly implemented by Pastor Curl to fill the church house. This evangelism plan would create internal and external momentum to reach the surrounding community. This plan soon began to emerge into a full blown ministry campaign.

Adopt-A-Seat

Adopt-A-Seat is a ministry evangelism campaign that is geared towards growing the church numerically with genuine membership. This campaign would instruct and equip current congregants with the necessary tools needed to create genuine encounters and be able to effectively relationship build.

With four core methods in place, The R.O.C.K. has positioned itself for ministry expansion as the campaign stays viable.

Method 1

Promotional & Testimonial

Through the new age of content in take, video has taken over as the primary outlet. Through promotional and testimonials, this content aims to spark internal motivation for members to get involved. By directing people to be the change, influence and the inspiration to extend a hand to others how they too were extended a hand.

Method 2

Interactive Wall

The R.O.C.K.’s Adopt-A-Seat interactive wall showcases an acrylic diagram of the church’s sanctuary layout. With this diagram, congregants are able to see their adopted seat. Their adopted seat has the name of the person they committed to building a genuine relationship with to eventually help them become a member of the ministry through their effective evangelism efforts.

As a person’s Adopt-A-Seat committee has become a member, their name is filled in with a red dot that signifies their membership within the ministry. The goal is to fill the board with committed Adopt-A-Seat members.

Method 3

Adopt-A-Seat Cards

Adopt-A-Seat Cards are designed to help the congregation in their evangelism efforts. These cards are centered around three different topics when a congregant pulls a card. They will either get a card that will direct them towards and idea of what to do with their Adopt-A-Seat Buddy, tips on how to share their faith, and lastly, a scriptural references that will edify their efforts. These cards aim to keep the momentum high to create more engagement from the people during
the campaign.

Method 4

Congregational Media Post

Through social media platforms by using #AdoptASeatChallenge many people will get to feel the efforts of The R.O.C.K. as they fill the hearts of many people. Filling empty seats and empty hearts. Growth never felt so good.

With consistency and precision, the Adopt-A-Seat campaign will continue to expand. Touching many generations and people of all kinds, the church is not done yet. The Kingdom is just getting started here in the Austonio area.
